New roofs & re-roofs
New Roofs and Roof Replacements
Full roof replacements for homes and businesses across Egham, Ascot and the wider Surrey area. Pitched or flat, tile or slate, fitted properly by the same family team from start to finish.
The detail
A new roof done properly, without the hard sell
When a roof is genuinely past fixing, a full replacement is the sensible move. We fit brand new roofs on homes and businesses across Egham, Ascot, Virginia Water, Windsor, Chobham and the wider Surrey, West London and Berkshire area. Pitched or flat, on new builds and full re-roofs, in natural slate, artificial slate or concrete tiles. We will talk you through what suits your property and your budget before any work starts.
Chris has been roofing for 25 years and started CBM Roofing as a family-run firm in 2024. He often works alongside his son, so the roofers you meet at the quote are the same team on your roof. We give straight advice, too. If roof repairs would sort the problem for a fraction of the cost, we will tell you, rather than talk you into a new roof you do not need.
Every job is fully licensed and insured, and we back our workmanship with a guarantee of up to 10 years.

What's included
What the job involves
Honest advice first
We get up on the roof and have a proper look before quoting. Sometimes a repair is the right call and we will say so. If a full replacement makes more sense, we explain why in plain terms.
Full strip and clear-up
We strip the old roof back, load out the debris and take away all the waste. Skips and sheeting are sorted by us. The skip usually needs to sit on the driveway, so we will agree the best spot with you and keep disruption to a minimum while we work.
New felt, battens and membrane
Down goes a fresh breathable membrane and new treated battens, the layers that keep water out and let the roof breathe. It is the part you never see, but it matters most.
Tiles or slate to suit you
We lay your chosen covering, whether that is natural slate, artificial slate or concrete tiles, all fixed correctly to current standards.
Insulation where it is needed
If the loft or roof would benefit from better insulation while things are open, we fit it. That helps keep the heat in and takes the edge off your bills.
A tidy finish
We sort the ridges, verges, flashings and any leadwork, then leave the site clean. Gutter repairs, fascia replacements and chimney repairs can be done at the same time if the roofline needs it.
Good to know
Your options: tile, slate and what suits your home
The right covering depends on your house, the look you want and what you want to spend. Natural slate is the long-lasting choice and looks the part on period and character homes, though it costs more. Artificial slate gives you a similar look for less and sits lighter on the roof. Concrete tiles are hard-wearing, come in plenty of colours and are usually the most affordable option, while clay tiles hold their colour well and suit traditional homes.
For any flat sections, we use proper flat roofing systems such as fibreglass or felt, and we will advise you on the options available based on the weight allowance of your roof. Stripping a slate roof and replacing it with heavier concrete tiles can cause sagging, so the covering has to suit the structure. We will walk you round every option at the quote, show you samples where we can, and give you a clear price for each, so you can decide what is right for your home and budget.
FAQs
New Roofs questions, answered
Not every tired roof needs replacing. If it is a few slipped tiles or a bit of worn flashing, roof repairs will often do the job for far less. We only recommend a full new roof when the covering, battens or felt are genuinely past saving, and we will always be honest about which one you actually need. When the time does come, a new roof is a worthy investment: it should last you around 100 years and it protects everything underneath it, your home and everything inside.
A new roof needs to be done precisely and properly, with care and attention, so we never rush it. As a small team of three or four, a typical re-roof takes a week or a couple of weeks depending on the size. Too many people on one roof leads to a drop in quality, and it is not a job that should be rushed. We will give you a realistic timescale at the quote, work tidily and clear up as we go.
A properly fitted roof should last for decades, and the exact figure depends on the materials you choose, with natural slate lasting the longest. On top of that, we back our workmanship with a guarantee of up to 10 years, and we are fully licensed and insured.
